Czech trade group in Auckland for discussions

A parliamentary delegation from the Czech Republic led by the President of the Senate, Mr Premysl Sobotka, arrives in New Zealand tomorrow for a three-day visit.

The President is being accompanied by three Senators and the Minister of Government for European Relations, the former Czech Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, Mr Juraj Chmiel.

A cross-party delegation led by the Speaker, the Hon Dr Lockwood Smith, will meet with its Czech counterparts on Monday. The Czech parliamentary delegation will also participate in a panel discussion with students of the Europe Institute at the University of Auckland.

The Vice Minister of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Mr Milan Hovorka, and a trade delegation of 12 Czech company representatives, will accompany the President to a trade seminar organised in conjunction with the Auckland Chamber of Commerce.
