Scottish delegation visiting Parliament

A delegation from the Scottish Parliament led by the Presiding Officer, Alex Fergusson MSP, is visiting the New Zealand Parliament this week.
The Scottish Parliament has a strong focus on public participation in Parliament and during their New Zealand visit they will be discussing MMP and youth engagement and attending the Māori Affairs and Social Services select committee meetings.
A call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon Dr Lockwood Smith, is planned and the group will sit in on Parliament’s question time.
The New Zealand – Scotland Parliamentary Friendship Group will also meet the delegation.
Meetings are also planned with the Māori Language Commission, Ministry for Education and Te Puni Kōkiri. They will also meet with the Ministry of Youth Development and visit a Scots in New Zealand exhibition at Te Papa.
Other members of the Scottish delegation are Ted Brocklebank MSP, Ross Finnie MSP, Rhoda Grant MSP, and Sandra White MSP.
