Seeking New Zealand representatives for 5th Commonwealth Youth Parliament in London

The New Zealand Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) is seeking expressions of interest from young New Zealanders who are interested in representing New Zealand at the Commonwealth Youth Parliament in London from 4-8 December 2012, to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Applicants need to be aged between 18 and 29 years, with strong leadership skills and an interest in the Commonwealth and parliamentary affairs.

The theme of this year’s Commonwealth Youth Parliament is governance, looking at the concept from a local, national and international perspective. The historic surroundings of the Houses of Parliament at Westminster will provide an inspirational setting for this exciting and important programme.

To apply please use the email form on this page to send your name, age, occupation, and a short explanation of why you would like to represent New Zealand at the 4th CYP. The closing date for applications is Monday 6 August 2012 at 5.00 p.m.The branch may nominate two attendees from New Zealand.

Please note the successful applicants will need to meet the cost of their travel to and from London. Once in London funding will be provided for expenses incurred over the 4-7 December period.
