Lynne Pillay to the Minister of Police (includes responsibility for Serious Fraud Office) (09 Feb 2010): What disciplinary action, if any, has been taken against Police officers who tried to dissuade a victim of indecent assault from pursuing charges against her attacker as reported in the Herald on Sunday on 6 December 2009?
Hon Judith Collins (Minister of Police (includes responsibility for Serious Fraud Office)) replied: The Policing Act 2008 requires that decisions on the manner in which Police respond to incidents are operational decisions for the Commissioner of Police.
