2449 (2010). Hon Trevor Mallard to the Minister of Education (18 Mar 2010): Can she outline how the National Standards will raise achievement and the evidence she has for her view?
Hon Anne Tolley (Minister of Education) replied: There is significant evidence that standards can be used to raise achievement. For instance, the recently-released School Leadership Evidence Synthesis identified establishing clear and specific goals and expectations for achievement as one of the key dimensions of school leadership that make a difference to students.
