2454 (2010). Hon Trevor Mallard to the Minister of Education (18 Mar 2010): Are plain language school reports to be written in parents’ first languages?
Hon Anne Tolley (Minister of Education) replied: Schools and their communities are able to decide how the school will communicate with parents. Whatever they agree, reports to parents are to be at least twice a year in writing. They must report both progress and achievement in relation to the standards in simple, clear and direct language.
