4667 (2012). Hon Phil Goff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (08 Jun 2012): Which line items have had cuts in expenditure made to them to find the $24 million in savings to be made from Ministry spending in 2012/13, and in each case what was the size of the cut?
Hon Murray McCully (Minister of Foreign Affairs) replied: The Ministry has advised me that the $24 million per year in savings will include approximately $10 million per year of savings in Europe, including the closure of the post in Stockholm. The rest of the savings will be in the following areas: staff reductions in back office functions, including HR, IT, Communications and Finance; reshaping of staffing structures from posts outside of Europe; and savings from other divisional budgets at head office.
