to the Minister of Agriculture (10 Feb 2010): How many times over the past two years, in accord with legislation governing their activities, have animal welfare inspectors and auxiliary officers under warrant entered and searched any place to inspect and then copy any documents in electronic form; and how many prosecutions have resulted?
Hon
David
Carter
(Minister of Agriculture) replied: I am advised that there were four occasions under search warrant that documents in electronic form were copied. I understand that one has resulted in a prosecution, one has been recommended for prosecution and two remain under investigation.
Please note that the Ministry does not hold the relevant information on accredited SPCA inspectors, only on MAF animal welfare inspectors.
