The business statement is an informal indication of the business the Government intends to place before the House. The statement is usually delivered by the Leader of the House when the House sits on a Thursday.

Hon Christopher Finlayson, Acting Leader of the House, made the following statement relating to the business of the House:

When the House resumes on Tuesday, 16 August, the Government intends to move the first reading of the Legal Assistance (Sustainability) Amendment Bill, and the second reading of the Biosecurity Law Reform Bill.

The Government then intends to move that urgency be accorded to the passage of a number of bills that require timely implementation. The Acting Leader of the House intends to provide the Business Committee with further details next week.
