The business statement is an informal indication of the business the Government intends to place before the House. The statement is usually delivered by the Leader of the House when the House sits on a Thursday.

Hon Simon Power made the following statement relating to the business of the House:

When the House resumes on Tuesday 27 October, the Government intends to make progress on bills on the order paper, including the Gangs and Organised Crime Bill and the Criminal Investigations (Bodily Samples) Amendment Bill, and introduce bills as they become available.
