The business statement is an informal indication of the business the Government intends to place before the House. The statement is usually delivered by the Leader of the House when the House sits on a Thursday.

Hon Tony Ryall, Acting Leader of the House, made the following statement relating to the business of the House:

When the House resumes on Tuesday 2 August, the Government intends to make further progress on the Misuse of Drugs Amendment Bill and on the committee stage of the Appropriation (2011/12 Estimates) Bill, otherwise known as the Estimates Debate, which is an eight hour debate.
