[Sitting date: 20 June 2012. Volume:681;Page:3138. Text is incorporated into the Bound Volume.]

Points of Order

Leave for Introduction—Reserve Bank of New Zealand (Amending Primary Function of Bank) Amendment Bill

Rt Hon WINSTON PETERS (Leader—NZ First) : I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. To help the beleaguered, desperate exporters of this country, I seek leave—

Mr SPEAKER: Order!

Rt Hon WINSTON PETERS: I am seeking leave.

Mr SPEAKER: Order! No, no. When members seek leave to do anything, they do not have a little speech about anything prior to it. I am happy to let the member to seek leave for what he wishes to seek leave for, but he does not preface his seeking leave with a little speech.

Rt Hon WINSTON PETERS: I seek leave to have my bill on the Reserve Bank drawn from the ballot and presented to Parliament right now.

Mr SPEAKER: Leave is sought for that course of action. Is there any objection? There is objection.
