Voting

Correction

JILL PETTIS (Senior Whip—Labour): I have a brief procedural matter. Just before the dinner break when we took the vote on the Relationships (Statutory References) Bill, inadvertently a vote was cast for one member on our side of the House in both lobbies. It was the Hon Phillip Field. I want to record that Mr Field was voting against the bill. I seek leave for that voting record to be amended.

The ASSISTANT SPEAKER (H V Ross Robertson): Is there any objection to that course of action being taken? There appears to be none. The Ayes are now 76 and the Noes are 42.

SIMON POWER (Senior Whip—National) : I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. I apologise to Mr Donald. This will not take a moment. For the sake of clarification, which vote was that for? Was it for the amendments coming from the Justice and Electoral Committee? There was also a second vote in respect of the second reading after those amendments had been passed.

The ASSISTANT SPEAKER (H V Ross Robertson): The correction is for the vote on the question that the amendments recommended by the Justice and Electoral Committee by majority be agreed to.
