Prayers

1. Introduction of distinguished visitor

The Speaker informed the House that members of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee from the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, led by Ms Zhu Lilan, Director of the Committee, were present within the precincts of the Chamber.

The delegation was welcomed with applause.

2. Select committee reports

The presentation of five reports was announced.

The report on the Joint Select Committee Exchange, 27-31 May 2007 was set down for consideration.

Twelve questions to Ministers were answered.

Income Tax Bill

The House resolved itself into Committee for consideration of the Income Tax Bill.

Limited Partnerships Bill

The Limited Partnerships Bill was read a first time and stood referred to a select committee.

Dairy Industry Restructuring Amendment Bill (No 2)

The Dairy Industry Restructuring Amendment Bill (No 2) was read a first time and stood referred to a select committee.

Hon Rick Barker for Hon Jim Anderton moved a motion nominating the select committee to consider the bill and including an instruction in respect of the committee’s consideration of the bill.
