2. Application to debate matter of urgent public importance

The Speaker notified the House that Gareth Hughes had sought to move, That the House take note of a matter of urgent public importance, for the purpose of debating the quashing by the High Court of the Minister of Conservation’s decision to decline the proposal for a marine reserve in Akaroa Harbour.

The Speaker informed the House that he had declined the application.

3. General debate

David Shearer moved, and the question was proposed, That the House take note of miscellaneous business.

The motion lapsed.
