Requests that the House of Representatives note that 12,039 people have signed a petition calling for an immediate moratorium on all current beagle research; the prohibition of the use of cats or dogs for the purpose of animal research; the setting up of an independent inquiry into the effectiveness of animal welfare ethics committees in preventing duplicated, redundant or superfluous research from being carried out, and that the House support these demands.
