Great Barrier Island Subcommittee

A special subcommittee of the Auckland Governance Legislation Committee has been established to hear submissions on the Local Government (Auckland Council) Bill on Great Barrier Island on Wednesday, 15 July 2009.

Chaired by Nikki Kaye, the committee also includes Phil Twyford and Hone Harawira.

“I am pleased that we will be able to hear submissions on Great Barrier,” said Ms Kaye, ”and be able to take their views back to the full committee.”

“Changes in local government have the power to make a huge difference to this small community.”
