On 25 March the House established the Electoral Legislation Committee to consider and report to it on such legislation concerning the referendum on the electoral system, and reform to the electoral finance regime that may be referred to it. The committee met on 31 March to consider the Insurance (Prudential Supervision) Bill, and the international treaty examination of the Agreement between the Government of New Zealand and the Government of the Republic of Singapore for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income. It also heard evidence on the Report from the Controller and Auditor-General on The Auditor-General’s views on setting financial reporting standards for the public sector.
