Legal Services

Legal Services provides authoritative advice on parliamentary law is an important part of ensuring that Parliament operates as an effective democratic institution. Both legal expertise and institutional knowledge of parliamentary agencies are key factors in providing effective legal advice to the House. Legal advice and assistance is available to the House on parliamentary matters, to select committees, and to the Parliamentary Service.

Legal services are also available to assist members in drafting legislation.

Support to the Regulations Review Committee, which scrutinises delegated legislation, is also provided.
