4827 (2012). Hon Annette King to the Minister of Housing (15 Jun 2012): Will Housing New Zealand send out letters to existing tenants regarding a review of tenancy, if so when will the letters be sent out?
Hon Phil Heatley (Minister of Housing) replied: Reviewable tenancies were introduced on 1st July 2011 for new tenants. These are initially for a period of three years. The only exception is where Housing New Zealand becomes aware of a significant change in circumstances. In these cases a review will be carried out on an individual basis. Tenants over 65 years and those with significant disabilities are not impacted.
