The business statement is an informal indication of the business the Government intends to place before the House. The statement is usually delivered by the Leader of the House when the House sits on a Thursday.

Hon Christopher Finlayson, Acting Leader of the House, made the following statement relating to the business of the House:

Next week the House is in a two week adjournment.

When the House resumes on Tuesday, 17 July the Government will progress the Social Security (Youth Support and Work Focus) Amendment Bill and the Dairy Industry Restructuring Amendment Bill.

The Business Committee has determined the House will take Extended Hours on Wednesday, 18 July for the second readings of the Maraeroa A & B Blocks Claims Settlement Bill and the Maraeroa A & B Blocks Incorporation Bill, the Ngai Tāmanuhiri Claims Settlement Bill, the Ngāti Mākino Claims Settlement Bill and the Rongowhakaata Claims Settlement Bill.
