The business statement is an informal indication of the business the Government intends to place before the House. The statement is usually delivered by the Leader of the House when the House sits on a Thursday.

Hon Simon Power, Acting Leader of the House, made the following statement relating to the business of the House:

When the House resumes on Tuesday 17 May, the Government intends to progress the first readings of three Treaty Bills as cognate bills. The Government also intends to move that the Aquaculture Legislation Amendment Bill (No 3) be read a second time.

Wednesday is a Members’ day, and Thursday is Budget Day.
