The business statement is an informal indication of the business the Government intends to place before the House. The statement is usually delivered by the Leader of the House when the House sits on a Thursday.

Hon Simon Power, Acting Leader of the House, made the following statement relating to the business of the House:

Next week the House will be adjourned for one week.

When the House resumes on Tuesday 27 September, the Government intends to move the first reading of the Taxation (Annual Rates, Returns Filing, and Remedial Matters) Bill, the remaining stages of the Subordinate Legislation (Confirmation and Validation) Bill, and other government business.

Seven retiring members will also be giving their valedictory statements. Wednesday 28 September is scheduled to be a members’ day.
