1. Death of former member

The Speaker advised the House of the death on 13 May 2012 of Trevor James Young, QSO.

The Speaker expressed on behalf of the House the sense of loss sustained and sympathy with the relatives of the late former member, and members stood and observed a period of silence as a mark of respect to his memory.

2. Papers

Two papers were announced as published under the authority of the House (see Related links for papers published under the authority of the House).

3. Select committee reports

The presentation of 11 reports was announced.

The Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Bill was set down for second reading.

The report on the International treaty examination of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption was set down for consideration (see Related links for select committee reports).

4. Introduction of bills

The introduction of the Mount Maunganui Borough Reclamation and Empowering Act Repeal Bill was announced and the bill set down for first reading.

5. Questions for oral answer

Eleven questions to Ministers were answered.

One question was ruled out of order because it was prefaced by an unparliamentary remark that led to disorder.
