The Parliamentary Service is the largest of the agencies housed in the parliamentary complex. The Service employs approximately 430 staff as well as another 220 people employed as out-of-Parliament staff in the regions.

Who we are

The Parliamentary Service, established in 1985, is headed by the General Manager who is accountable to the Speaker for the running of the Service.

Our legal status

The Parliamentary Service was established by the Parliamentary Service Act 1985 and continues under the provisions of the Parliamentary Service Act 2000.
