Patents Amendment Bill – call for submissions

The Commerce Committee is currently considering the Patents (Trans-Tasman Patent Attorneys and Other Matters) Amendment Bill. The bill proposes an amendment to the grounds on which a person can oppose the grant of a patent under the Patents Act 2013, a single patent application process and single patent examination process with Australia, and a joint registration regime with Australia for patent attorneys.

The closing date for submissions is Thursday, 24 March 2016.

If a submitter wishes to appear before the committee, they need to state this clearly and provide a name, daytime phone number and email address.
