In 2015 vacancies arose for the Deputy Controller and Auditor-General and the Chief Ombudsman. Inquiries were held by the committee and reports were presented to the House recommending that Greg Schollum be appointed Deputy Controller and Auditor-General and Judge Peter Boshier be appointed Chief Ombudsman.
The House agreed with these recommendations and evidence of the resolutions of the House was forwarded to the Governor-General. His Excellency made the recommended appointments allowing the Speaker to then administer a swearing in ceremony. The two officers swore to faithfully and impartially perform the duties of their respective offices. These formalities being completed Mr Schollum and Judge Boshier began their 5 year terms of office.
