A delegation from Parliament landed in New Plymouth on Friday 15 November for the last Speaker’s Outreach visit for 2019.
Parliament comes to Invercargill (November 2019)
Proving that distance really is no barrier when it comes to engaging with democracy, Parliament visited New Zealand’s southernmost city on Friday 8 November.
Parliament in the Wairarapa (September 2019)
Whareama School, located in Wairarapa, played host to The Speaker Rt Hon Trevor Mallard and local MPs Alastair Scott (National) and Kieran McAnulty (Labour), alongside Tangata Vainerere Clerk of the House for Cook Islands Parliament, for Speaker’s Outreach.
Parliament visits Hamilton (September 2019)
The Speaker Rt Hon Trevor Mallard was joined by local MPs Hon Tim Macindoe (National), Jamie Strange (Labour), and Hon David Bennett (National), as well as Green Party MP Chlöe Swarbrick to visit two schools and Waikato University in Hamilton.
Parliament comes to the Classroom - Dunedin (June 2019)
David Seymour (Act New Zealand) Clare Curran (Labour) and the Speaker of the House Trevor Mallard took the Speaker's Outreach programme to Macandrew Bay and Bathgate Park Schools in Dunedin.
Taking Parliament to the Bay of Plenty (May 2019)
The Speaker-led Outreach Programme took Parliament to the Bay of Plenty last week. Children at two schools and students from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology got the chance to meet the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Trevor Mallard who was accompanied by Tauranga-based MP, Jan Tinetti and local electorate office staffers Maree Brookes and Jenny Wotten who work for Hon Simon Bridges and Hon Todd McClay.
Speaker's Outreach goes to Christchurch (March 2019)
The Speaker’s Led Outreach programme in Christchurch proved to be yet another wonderful opportunity for members of Parliament to meaningfully engage with young people. Present on the day alongside Mr Speaker, Rt Hon Trevor Mallard were the members of Parliament Rt Hon David Carter (National), Matt Doocey (National), Hon Ruth Dyson (Labour), Jan Logie (Greens), David Seymour (Act), and Hon Poto Williams (Labour).
