Create your own Parliament
Create your own Parliament is an interactive tool that allows you to visualise your own Parliament.
You can select from fictional political parties in the list of options, input the number of votes for each, and see how this would be reflected in New Zealand’s debating chamber. You can also rearrange the parties to achieve a majority and form a government.

Your Parliament House Seating
Our House of Representatives is normally made up of 120 elected members of Parliament. A government is formed when one party, or multiple parties together, achieve a majority of seats in the House. This equates to 61 or more seats.
The seating plan illustrates your Parliament’s composition. The list to the left outlines the name and colour of each party, the number of seats they have in the House, and the number of votes and voter percentages.
The list and seats are automatically populated from the government bench in the order of selection. Drag and drop each party to change the arrangement, form a coalition or agreement with other parties, and form a government.
