Introducing Parliament tour
This 60 minute tour is a great way to learn about our parliamentary processes and New Zealand’s history while looking through our iconic buildings.
Highlights of Parliament tour
This 30 minute highlights tour is an insight into the heart of our democracy, the debating chamber where the House of Representatives meet.
Public tours run between 10am and 4pm daily. Check our Calendar for our daily tour schedule.
Tour group size is limited and bookings are advisable for individuals wishing to take the tour during peak periods (such as school holidays and public holidays).

If you have booked a place on a public tour, you must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the tour or risk losing your place.
Tour times can be subject to change.
Parliament is closed to the public on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, 2 January, Waitangi Day and Good Friday.
This 90 minute tour focuses on the Parliamentary Collection and looks at works across the precinct. This tour features some locations not on the Introducing Parliament or Highlights of Parliament tour and does not visit the debating chamber.

Private tours may be available on request for groups of 10 people or more with a maximum group size of 42. These tours can be tailored to reflect the interests and knowledge and needs of your group.
Tours need to be requested a minimum of a week in advance and charges may apply.

All tours are accessible to visitors using a wheelchair or with a buggy. The only place that cannot be accessed by someone in a wheelchair is the base isolator exhibit which is in the basement of the historic Parliament House.
Tours with an NZSL interpreter can be arranged with 7 days advance notice and will be dependent on interpreter availability.
Tours in Mandarin can be arranged for groups of 10 people or more with a maximum group size of 42 with 7 days advance notice and will be dependent on guide availability.
Tour information sheets are available for Te Reo Maori, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and Korean.
All tours are subject to the daily business of Parliament and associated events, and can occasionally be adapted for this reason.
Please follow the safety instructions of security officers who may screen certain items.
Everyone must leave their bags, coats, phones, cameras and other electronic devices in secure storage at the Visitor Centre before each tour begins. Please cooperate with our staff, who will return your possessions to you at the end of your tour. You cannot take your belongings with you on the tour.
