AM radio network outage: Auckland region
Last updated: 17 April 2026This affects people who listen to Parliament on the RNZ AM network (882 AM).
The RNZ AM 882 radio frequency that broadcasts Parliament sittings in the Auckland region will be off-air for around ten hours a day from Thursday 16 April.
The outage will be from 7.35am – 5.55pm each day while RNZ does important mast maintenance. Outside of these hours, broadcasting will continue as normal. The work is expected to take two weeks, weather dependent.
Transmission to other parts of the country should be unaffected. During the outages, you can still follow Parliament live in the following places:
- Listen on RNZ’s website
- Watch on Parliament TV, digital channels Freeview 31 and Sky 86
- Watch live or on demand on Parliament Video.
