2026 Register of members’ interests published

Last updated: 21 May 2026

Every year Parliament publishes a summary of members’ financial, business, and personal interests, which is known as the Register of Pecuniary and Other Specified Interests of Members of Parliament.

Why have a Register of members’ interests?

The Register provides transparency of, and accountability about, members’ interests, thereby strengthening public trust and confidence in parliamentary processes and decision-making.

How the Register works

The requirements for declaring interests are set out in Appendix B of the Standing Orders. Members declare their interests to the newly appointed Registrar of Pecuniary and Other Specified Interests, Naomi Ferguson, QSO. The Registrar provides advice and guidance to members on their obligations. Members submit their returns by the end of February each year. The Registrar combines members’ returns into the summary report, which the Speaker presents to the House. It is then made publicly available on the Parliament website.

2025/26 Register

This year’s Register was tabled in the House this week by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Rt Hon Gerry Brownlee.
