New exhibition open at Te Papakura

A powerful new exhibition, Dirty Little Secrets: Silenced Voices, is opening at Te Papakura.

The exhibition features artists from all over New Zealand from the Chatham Islands to Murihiku. All who went through the closed adoption scheme.

Opening on 8 September, the exhibit will be partly staffed by volunteer artists who are participating in the exhibition.

Artist Philippa Doyle said that  she was emotional when she saw the exhibition fully installed in the building.

This exhibition showcases 13 artists and continues the 40-year conversation on legislative change to the Adoption Act 1955.
